I've watched this clip about 10 times in the last day and half and I'm just about to watch it again. This wave makes me want to leave Indonesia and get a job in a diamond mine! Namibia (from magic seaweed):

n.b. Halbs, you should NOT watch this or your achilles tendon may leap off the bone on its own accord!

The drops look like the heavy New Jersey, Maryland type, but the wave is the endless version.

I wonder if Chicama gets that hollow?

A love/hate video!
Love the wave especially the fin cruising just above the surface on the right side around the 2:05 mark.
Don't like it because it reminds me that its Queensland spring and our surf forecast :
Friday 23rd September
Tiny surf to 0.5-1ft at most beaches. Slightly bigger surf at S facing beaches. Light ESE winds with a'noon NNE seabreezes.
Saturday 24th September
Tiny surf to 0.5ft at most beaches. Light NNW winds with a'noon NNE to NE seabreezes.
Sunday 25th September
Tiny surf to 0.5ft at most beaches. Light NNW winds with a'noon mod N'ly breezes.
Monday 26th September
(time to get excited)
Small increase in refracted S swell to 1-2ft at s facing beaches during the day. Tiny elsewhere. Light S'ly winds with a'noon SE'ly breezes.
Tuesday 27th September
Weak residual S to SSE swell to 1ft at most beaches. Slightly larger surf at S facing beaches. Light NW winds tending mod NNE during the day.

I been toying with the idea of heading up there for a look-see...but surfing it the size of some of those sets? I dont think my medical aid is big enough....

amazing surf but that takes sharkey to an entirely different level. can you imagine the # of whites patrolling the beach considering a seal colony of that size.

Cheers Andy, had no idea of the situation surrounding this wave - should've guessed I suppose. Especially as we've lost our favourite local spot here in Indo for exactly the same reasons. At least it doesn't look like the namibia spot will be covered in resorts and hotels anytime soon.
Still a totally mesmerising wave. I wonder if a good kneelo would be getting any deeper than some of those standup guys? It almost beggars belief....
