Full Wetsuits Kneeboard Grip.

Post by Terence H »

I am looking at a few suits for next winter , and had a look at the Billabong Foil the knee area feels a bit too smooth for kneeboarding , is this true in practice ?
Are any of the full wetsuits better than each other for kneeboarding ?

Howzit Terence,

You Durban guys dont need fullsuits surely ? Are you getting soft ?

I cant give you specifics, but I had a Frontline some time back with sewn on knee patches that stayed on forever. All my other suits had those stick on ones and they all ended up torn to bits and dangling all over the place. Trying to glue them back just ended in a mess

Cheers

Andy howzit , we had some chilly days this Winter , and yes i am getting soft :-) a few freezing days i just stayed in bed.
We even have guys wearing full suits all year round here , naffs !

The Billabong Foil does not have anything on the knees just the material covering the neoprene.

Hey Terrance, check out the O'neill Reactor, it has good knee coverage, seem to work fine for me... 8)

I got a Billabong foil that seems to be OK. Mind you winter in Queensland only last 6 weeks. 8)

Yes Queensland supposed to be a lot like Durban climate wise , so the wetsuit does not have to be great so the Foil should be fine thanks, i will check out the reactor Oilman thanks.

I had smooth kneepads on my Hurley that wore out to just wetsuit material. I never have a problem as long as I have deck pads. Can't speak for wetsuit on wax though.
