As I drove to the cliffs this weekend in my 2000 Saturn (a company which no longer exists) I wondered what would be my "dream" vehicle to throw in a couple kneeboards etc in and forget all me troubles for a while ....for me perhaps a Chev Nomad Wagon. Anyone got or wish for a favorite vehicle that takes you to the water? Carl E has a neat van...that would be good, too.

Any vehicle or mode of transport that can get ya to some waves is a dream vehicle I reckons, although one of the Cove crew had this funky Ford wagon that I seen when we were in HB earlier this year and if we had them in Aus I would like one.

Me thinks it was a

Mike, I can just imagine your 550 cut up like a Baja Bug, big offroad tires, and a roll bar roof rack for boards. George Barris style of course.

Alan I had TI Raleigh team bike when I raced back in the early 80's.

Ken, chopping an over a $million dollar car is not good.

A 1959 Chevy Impala convertible would be good also.

A fibreglass beach buggy, you dont have to worry about corrosion and in S.A they dont really steal them, so you can park em at some obscure spot on the south coast and not worry about having to hitch home after a surf!

gotta be 4x4,the real deal not AWD (lame)
gotta be able to sleep in it
must not be marred by cliche' stickers trumpeting your bossa nova eclectic lifestyle
must be incapable of transpoting a SUP under any circumstances

HJ62 Toyota Landcruiser. 1. turbo diesel 2. camp conversions were made. 3. can sleep in. 3. 4x4 4. reliable 5. and most importantly very cool.

Wish I could have one more easily in the US.

But my current rig is the best surf vehicle I've ever owned.
Toyota 4 runner, 1. V8 power 2. can sleep in 3. 4x4 and 4. reliable, so most things you could want in proper surf transport. Oh, and chicks dig it...not sure why but they do.
