COLLECTORS

Post by jdc »

this morning in the water was speaking with Barwon Heads surf shop owner and glasser Ross of Rasta surfboards/surf shop .

He is 'thinking' of unloading some old collectable kneeboards including an 'as new' rip curl twin from late 70 or early 80's. He is an ex kneelo now long boarding or sup-ing

'thinking' being the key word here.

However, a keen collector might/could give him a ring and mention a grapevine and ask what he has got. He also said hes not looking to make major $$ so a pre-emptive investigation could yield something interesting.

I was at the tip yesterday and picked up one of those ancient hollow plywood surfboards - 8' x 23". It's in really good condition and I can't wait to try it out. BTW - are these worth anything?

As we all know the ACT has some pretty decent waves - Pipe, Broken Lighthouse and others. So may be that is why Canberra is hosting this exhibition - see links. Pretty cool looking stuff but no KB's that I could see. I'll go check it out on the weekend.

Actually you're right AB. Lake Burley Griffin was flat again this morning - it never has any waves.

Plenty of waves at Lake George ........ oh no wait ........ that's the bull grass blowing in the wind in the middle of the lake, looks like quarter horse tow ins again.
