GREAT NEWS! Chuck "Razor" Smith, the Mayor of Kneelo Cove in Huntington Beach, CA, has been granted medical release to start kneeboarding immediately. And that's exactly what he did this past Friday April 27, 2012. Eight months ago Chuck had a work related nail gun accident that left him with a 3 inch nail thru his eye socket and resting between his forehead skull and brain. The nail was removed, a new cornea was surgically transplanted, we all prayed, and this dude is surfing 8 months later! Armed with eye protection provided by SPEX Amphibious Eyeware- a polarized slim goggle designed by Casey Patelski (a fellow Kneelo) for water sports like surfing, Chuck paddled into 4 to 5 ft A frame peaks at Huntington State beach last Friday, catching 7 nice peaks! Nothing but "shaka's" all morning. Chuck buddied up with Casey Patelski and Carl Ellery of the Kneelo Cove brotherhood, and went at it with gusto! If that's not enough, the next day, the Cove was pumping 6-8 ft bombing peaks and Razor paddled out again! When asked how he felt after his surf, he said "Well, I'm a little stiff, I think I'll go to the pool and loosen up later". WTF??? Hip-Hip Horray, Hip-Hip Horray! Total stud. Total Kneelo. Welcome home Chuck.
