Hurricane Sandy

Post by Mike Fernandez »

Man I miss a good storm. Looks like the east coast is going to have some epic surf in a couple days as soon as the wind goes down to about 20mph offshore.

The HMS Bounty sinks off North Carolina. This is the second time the ship has been destroyed  although no mutiny this time.

Mike, It's epic all right, from FL to Long Island some of the biggest surf in a while, much bigger than I got a couple weeks back. Lots of vids on the usual surf sites, 2ndlight has a few. OC MD Pier was destroyed today and boardwalk ripped up pretty bad.
Be happy you're not in H'burg- storm is going to stall right near the PA -MD border tonight and beat us up for 24 hrs. Current conditions: sustained 30-35 mph, gusting to 50, expecting gusts to 75 tonight, up to 60 all day tomorrow

no surfin for a while here, too much debris washing down from north.
Up all night feeding my Honda gennie.
Sandy did some serious landscaping on my farm, 3 large trees down and my tractor shed finally went completely down.

sad

Post by Jack Beresford »

Very sad to hear news of the loss of 80 homes to a fire at Breezy Point in Queens. More homes damaged by ocean waves and tide - which covered the entire community. My family spent many summers there when I was growing up.

Keeping friends and family back East in mind through this deadly storm.
