Been thinking about buying a SUP FOR fitness and to get out in the water on unsurfable days. Is this OK or an abomination.I just wonder how it would go over

I have a REAL paddle board. A Joe Bark 12 footer. You know, the kind you either knee ( how appropriate ) or prone paddle. Great for fitness and fun on surfless days. No fear of others thinking you abominable

However..... Would not most reasonable people concur.... a kneeboarder in the barrel is aesthetically superior to a sweeper, sweeping :?: And having reached the age where wearing black knee-highs and wingtips with my boardshorts would not be cause for a second glance, there is still that fading, sliver of pride that warns against.

Using a sup for fitness is great I have one that I used for rehab after injuring my back badly they are the best for developing core strength
But I do use mine responsibly if there is surf over 1-2 ft i go kneeboarding
I stay away from surfers because sups are a deadly menace amongst the general water population & should have an exclusion zone from surfers
Sups are great to fish from as well I troll lures behind me using a hand line inside a backpack great fun & exercise with the potential for lunch
After 10 weeks of 1-2 ft surf barely rideable a sup keeps a bit of sanity there
