Wow Willy, amazing you and Wes got anything out of this lake right now! We went abbing and crabbing yesterday and Saturday and it was the flattest you'll ever see around here for this time of year. Great for gettin' the abalone though! 25'+ vis, they didn't have a chance :D

Sort of a mini-Kneelo Gathering this morning at SFO’s Ocean Beach, as SoCal legends Danny Robertson and Bill Lerner came into town for work-related conferences (supposedly) but seemed really jonesing for a good surf. Making the drive down from a few hours north were Don Harris and Jeff Martinez, and also joining the whole group on the beach was Jamie McHugh, the Creedlier, and myself. How’s that for a collection misfits?! We had to battle through the many lines of whitewater to earn a shot at the 6-10’ faces in sunny, glassy conditions with light offshores—just beautiful. Lots of great rides by the guys spread out over a few hundred yards in the drifting current. Comments from the local standup crew as we paddled back in were really complimentary about so much good surfing from the kneeboard crew, followed by “now go home, please, so the rest of us can get a few waves…”

Sounds like a great time for you guys up in San Fran. Wish I was there. 8)
Two day road trip for me. Surfed a couple spots in Oxnard. Pretty sweet. Surfed one jetty spot for about three hours. It had a right wedge type peak best at high tide, then moved to the middle at medium tide, then the lefts off the other jetty at low tide. Total of eight guys out. Then drove with my wetsuit on to another spot for a few hours more. About six to seven foot faces, but 20-30 second rides. Best I've had in a few months. No where close to the HB crowds. Saw a kneelo out there, but then he disappeared.
The Friar Tuck is working amazingly.
Going to sleep with a wet head tonight, then all over again tomorrow, hopefully at a couple other spots. :D
