Great old single fin rounded pin tail. You had to draw your turns with this board. Nice rocker and outline.

Yeah it's funny it was my big wave board @ 5'6 now my gun is 6'7.
The 5'6 was fine in big waves as long as they were short walled or open and clean but on a super fast long section it wasn't up to it. Always felt at a disadvantage compared to stand up boards with 2' or more extra length. I wanted to be taking off where MP was at big groyne kirra but knew it was a lost cause, just not enough length. Didn't stop me though. Now with a 6'7 and more fins it's not a problem.
once you've had black you'll never go back!!!

Beautiful shot. Has John got any film from back then?

4 water shots taken by John and front covers of Surfing Magazine. The shot of John in the tube with Mark Richards taken by Peter Crawford. 2 early kneeboarders that captured all surfing forms.

Peter....if you go back to Joe's post on the previous page it shows how you do it. Just copy & paste his example into your post & change the number in the middle to that of the photo you wish to appear. You need to have the photo in the album, or your album first & there will be an id number with that photo.
You can then preview your photo before posting to make sure it's right.
Any problems...just ask.

Thanks for starting this Crox. Great history Peter. Looking forward to meeting you. I recently surfed with another legend, Dale Ponsford, he still rips. Only him and I out in HB around 6ft and choppy, fun. 8)
