Jerry Thies of Oxnard found dead on his boat

I got a call that Jerry Thies passed away, found by his wife on his boat . I surfed a lot with Jerry, at the channel Islands and in the Mentawais but mostly around Oxnard. Jerry was a funny , big hearted guy , that loved to knee board but over the last few yrs ,grew tired of the big crowds. I was very sad to hear of Jerry's passing. He was a guy that would pass up good surf to be with his kids and wife. We miss you buddy!
