were the Aussies pushing their fins way up even back then ?

Don't know.
Thought I saw in one of Simon's movies Peter Crawford riding a single fin with fin pretty far up compared to San Diego Fish boards.

Yeah I remember that, a cool little '' full volume '' board that had the planform/ outline sort of like a Greenough Spoon. A 1977 ad for ''Pub Squash'' I think.

the friar tuck twins and quads from back then had the fins pretty forward.

Thanks for the link, brought back such memories..

I was a a grom when I watched an earlier final between Gigs and Roman at perfect 6-8 foot Supers on TV.. was certainly a defining moment for me. They were killing it..!
