Travel bags for kneeboards

Post by hankj »

Having a tough time finding a suitable travel bag locally in Seattle, and the one I ordered from Amazon (Creatures of Leisure Triple Retro/Fish 6'0") came in the "slim fit" version and wasn't wide enough.

I'd appreciate a little help with specific travel bags for two or three kneeboards that will be wide enough but not super long. What do you use for travelling with two or more boards?

Thanks - really feeling pretty stuck a the moment.

Hank-

Stay Covered in Oceanside made me a great custom triple kneeboard bag. Gotten lots of use out of it and no complaints. I've traveled to Mexico, Costa Rica, Australia, and to both coasts of the USA and no board damage or wear on the bag.

My dad and some guys on KSUSA.org have also gotten great kneeboard travel bags from Midnight Products.

Here are links to both companies:

Good Luck

Chris

Chris thanks very much. I'm short on time and the bag I have will work for two boards. Not sure how to explain to the third board that it needs to stay home since I already promised that they all could come to San Diego, but sometimes life isn't fair.

I'll check out a custom bag if I ever need to travel with the whole quiver - thanks again for the help!

Here's a link to one I bought for a trip to Indo a few years ago:
linky
Kinda expensive but worked well, wide enough, good protection, wheels.
It's already good tomorrow...

Wish I was in SD today - surf looks great! Gonna surf like crazy over Christmas - wish there was more size but should be fun on Christmas Eve and then for a few days after :)

I agree with Chris. StayCovered or Midnight Products will make you a custom bag built to your specs with good quality at a good price. They're both KSUSA sponsors, so tell them you heard about them here.

Check out Airwave Boardbags in SF. Mark is a very cool guy and the bags are custom; love my double Boardbag/coffin he made for me. http://airwavesf.com

Prolite bags. As you know, I travel A LOT! The Prolite 6'6" wheeled travel bag is 25 inches wide and will hold 3 boards easily. I bag my boards THEN put them in my Prolite. No issues at all. But, they're expensive.
