Scoop,

Glad to hear Bree's home safe. Great spirit to pack up and travel the world like that.

We should get Qantas as a sponsor and alternate our yearly comps - Aussies fly to the US for Santa Cruz and Yanks fly to Philip Island for the PI comp alternating years... whattya think? HAH!

Well, November is good here in California and the same for PI so we'll just have to live with our schedules. Next year we'll contact you guys early and try to make sure we don't overlap.

Good luck to you and all the guys/gals down at the PI comp. Should be a great one with a ton of talent.

Send pics... I'll put up a new photo gallery section for both our comps.

Cheers,

Don

I know powlett river mouth is a long way from you, but simon F text me yesterday and said he had a four hour surf out there and had so many barrels that he even got 20 for me, made me feel sick, when i was slaving at work. Coming to the Island next wednesday with Albert and Troy Simpson

darn - I knew Farrer had been up to something!

I surfed Wooly beaches with Max Hutchison and Dean Bold and a couple of other kneeboarders. 2-3' clean but not as good as the Powlett. (I only got 2 tubes).

Banks at Wooly are looking good. With any luck we may even have a contest in right handers for a change. Thank goodness because I can't really surf lefts! You can get excited by checking out the surf at wooly at www.triggerbros.com.au

Sunday Morning surf report;
Pleasure Point 6 to 8 feet glassy with slight off shore
Steamer Lane 6 to 10 feet same conditions
Swell is out of Norhwest and solid lines. This is what we are looking for Thursday. Let's hope it can take shape. Monday is looking real good for those who travel early.

Hey, Jon. Thanx for the report. I'll jump down to the beaches and check it out. So far, the only report I have is 'sunny skies - hot coffee'.

Hi All,

Great waves here today!!! Ain't it amazing how one day (Saturday) can be soooo junky (small wind blown slop) and then the next day (today) can be full of glassy, overhead barrells.

Down the beach playing with kids before dinner tonight - Monday Aust time - swell has picked up substantially since yesterday and we could clearly see the swell heading along the coast to Phillip Island - there will without doubt be waves for the contest - wind is the factor now

dorje

after weeks of poor weekend conditions finally got something half decent yesterday at Jan Jac - another kneelo out as well, but there something about kneeboarders who ride strapper boards (mostly twinnies) none of them want to talk boards...or perhaps its me

Spooked...

Well, if large solo surfs are what you want then yesterday was the day here at OB. I paddled out solo at mid-beach to catch a few "uncrowded" waves... offshore winds all day, long period swell, big groomed peaks. A few guys out on guns but I paddled AWAY from them to catch a bigger peak... What the !@## was I thinking :?: :?: :?:

The one wave I caught was about as large as I've ridden in a while.

The next four waves that crushed me were definetly the largest waves I've been out in from recent memory. I really shouldn't have been out there alone. Syd had just reached the dunes and saw the episode... I sure was glad to see him as I reached the sand.

I'm still rattled to be honest. No surf for me today... I've met my match.
