On saturday it was about a couple of feet overhead with a pretty decent right hand beachbreak/headland setup clean in the morning and a slight chop in the afternoon. Sunday was a little smaller (about chest high) and glassy, a bit inconsistent because the swell pretty much dissapeared this morning.

All in all, it was such a good contest, I did not do too well, but my throat and jaw hurt from laughing so much for three days straight..

Who says contests are not fun?

Made it 20 minutes down the road before the technicolour yawn caught up with me. The boys were very understanding and even stopped the car.

Top night. Great weekend. (except for our neighbours who kept beating on the walls)

One thing that should be mentioned here... just remembered about the coffs comp. There was no favoritism whatsoever when it came to heat draws. The heats were drawn as per guidance by Surfing Australia. Since the Bendalong comp had such unusual results, we ended up with some funky draws.

For Example; this is what I recall was the first four heats of round one.

Heat 1:
Baden Smith
Kyle Bryant

Heat 2:
Gavin Coleman

Heat 3:
Albert
Smurf

Heat 4:
Steen Barnes
Andrew Heaton.

Which left us with these being the first two heats of round two.
Heat 1:
Kyle Bryant
Baden Smith
Gavin Coleman

Heat 2:
Albert
Steen Barnes
Andrew Heaton   :!:

Now if you have a look, this round was a bit ridiculous, the one after that was probably at par with a final and it was just a quarterfinal!
As usual, I was handed my butt on a silver platter, but it was a lot of fun.
