Met with Sharon at The Edgewater this AM. She's offering a bit of a discount if you're spending more than 3 nites. I'll have to post the rates when I get home (and to my notes). But a basic room with 2 queens is $89 - but is more like an apartment. Rooms for 4 and above cost more but come with a jacuzzi. They also have an additional parking lot that is just across the street from Ideal Fish Restaurant..and a large heated pool.
..one ocean view room still available. Book quickly.
I gave her the heads up that this is a test run for next year's Worlds and that that contest would run for 2 weeks thus providing paying customers during a slack time in their year. Basically, I told her - 'You play nice - we'll play nice.'

It looks like we are staying there. I told Sharon the manger the same thing. If all goes well with the Edgewater it could be KNEELO CENTRAL next year. We've got quite a crew already with EQ, Eric Osland, Paul Devoy, My Bro Dan Robertson and myself. Quinns already labeling it THE KNEELO FRAT HOUSE!
Surfhorn,
I booked one of those rooms about a month ago when you first posted the list of local places to stay. The entire place was vacant at that time, I think they have 17 rooms, so I asked Sharon which room would she stay in if for some reason she had to sleep in her own place. Well......That's the one I booked but it's $99 a night for me?
At that time I had told her to get ready cuz the Kneelo's were coming!!
It sounds like a nice place, and it's definitely close to the Bar, which of course is the 2nd most important place to be within walking distance from!
Later, Jim Morales
Here is some good info on where we will meet every evening for contest festivities and information. Great food deals for you hungry souls!

Just booked a room for the family. Sharon said that the pool was NOT heated. However, she is going to see if they can crank up the heat for us as a special treat.
See you guys next week!
Scott, 20' to 30' waves? Are you kidding It's been 25 years since I've kneeboarded, and I have a new board. Maybe my surfing, and windsurfing will save my A*#
I am a traveller of both time and space, a weaver in and out of dreams, I see worlds seldom seen.

Cool. My birthday is Saturday. I can eat Prime Rib, collect my trophy and new board from the raffle. No other presents required, unless you draw me in a heat, then I could use a couple extra wave.
Last year I came home from Santa Cruz with a new Flashpoint for my birthday. That will be hard to beat.

Don't worry Mike. That new fish looks like it can handle anything.
You're in good hands.
