HELMETS

Post by KED »

Anyone wear a helmet while k'boarding? E v e r?
I've been bonked on the head a few times... inspired me to start wearing a helmet. Live to surf another day . The standups can kick their boards away from themselves in the face of a wipeout... I have not yet figured out how to do that on a k'board. Any feedback re. how to stay as safe as possible during a wipeout would be much appreciated. Thanks!

halbs, don`t have an issue with the obvious benefits of a stack hat and if there`s anywhere that demands their use it`s One Palm, but in Indo conditions I found them similar to wearing a pressure cooker without the relief valve.Ventilation was a genuine problem, espesially after a long paddle back to the lineup.I reluctantly brushed mine, but found them extra good at carting around my avocados without bruising them. And one other thing, should you come across any of my bark there could you please return it.

I bought a helmet for some of the serious places, but have only worn it once. Actually have only seen two guys in my life have a head cut, but again they were stand up.

helmets

Hey Griz, if I see any flesh I shall grab it and bag it for you, don't know how I'll go getting through customs but should ber sweet!!! The new Gath Gedi is a smaller close fitting helmet and the side panels over the ears actually come off making it very similar to a skull cap, so hopefully although it will get hot it won't be unbearable!! All the best, ps small surf today over this way!!
