surf report

Post by Mark Ramirez »

I've been able to surf La Jolla alot this week. Hairmo's, South Bird, Big Rock, and Hospitals when the tide is high and, North Bird, Simmons, and Horseshoes when it's low. It was 5-7ft. today and Thursday is supposed to be bigger! :D

Swell this week

Bintang Bob wrote:It's been pumping in Gizzy @ the Pipe:!: :!: :!: I've had double over head surf almost to myself (1/2 dozen out & no one chalenging for the sets).... life is soooo good.... :D
I am looking to score myself this weekend, wish me luck and plenty of swell. 2 weeks back it was 8 ft solid in West Java.

I am planning a quick trip to Panaitan next month during the middle since we have a 3 day weekend or is it 4 days, anyone interested?

Catalina eddy screwed everything up this morning... didn't know it had even formed. John Coleman let me down. :(

Got/made a 3 second barrel today just north of Scripps Pier 8)
Not really big, but pretty fun sized (~3-5'). It was nice and glassy this morning, waves were backing off a bit at first but got better temporarily as the tide started to drop. Still not bad now, a little breeeeezzzzzier (some John Coleman for ya) but not bad.

Been catching some good 4-5ft surf at 48th street in Ocean City, MD lately. Barrel city! Seems I have become a local  if they only knew I drive three hours to get there. Almost broke my treasured Blast quad. :o Big stress cracks across the bottom from reentries on the knarly suckout closeouts. :P Surf will be flat this weekend though.

I've noticed that I surf better when I can surf every day :-)

Surfed in heavy fog this afternoon. "Winter" will soon be over as fast as it started.
