Surfed a hollow fast left beachbreak this morning with Willy. We
shared it for a good hour and a half before getting over-run by
standups.
I snapped and buckled the nose on my new Flashpoint. Stayed in
the barrel till the end, got bounced off the bottom on my back
and shoulder. Guess that inside section was a little shallow....

Finally nailed Manasquan Inlet, NJ. about 2ft overhead on a standup
Nice right break off the jetty, long rides, but not as knarly as Ocean City, MD. Definately won't be breaking any boards here. Had some good right's and left's. Wind was howling offshore about 25 knots. About 30 guys at the point, but mainly loggers that don't go for the set waves.

Hey Mike, Glad to see you scored- my original home break! Also glad the locals didn't joisey you to death. Many fond memories of a nine-year-old on an inflatable mat- my first kneelo experiences...Mike Fernandez wrote:Finally nailed Manasquan Inlet, NJ. about 2ft overhead on a standupNice right break off the jetty, long rides, but not as knarly as Ocean City, MD. Fun left peaks again this morning. The same left that
Willy and I surfed on Monday. Sunny with cold, hard
offshores - crowd count was four of us.
I dropped the Flashpoint off a while ago for a new nose
job. A couple of weeks and it will be good to go once again.
Love that board, might have to break down and order a
backup for it from Bruce.

Dec. 26: Surfed Che's Revenge with WAKA WAKA Gene-O.......rank, lumpy, toxic wedges with a few long ones if ya got around the all corners. Raging Rivers was the action of the day, both North of Liberate Palestine. Slave Dave, who I hadn't seen in awhile paddled out and sat really deep in the suicide zone like always.
After about 20 minutes The Slave had disappeared from the rock bowls he was playin' with. Saw him struggling in the 8k current and knew he was in trouble. Looked like a lobster line had fouled his kookcord. We both hauled ass over and found he was tryin' to save a freaked out pitbull from drowning.
Both were gettin' beat down bad.
WAKA WAKA grabed the mutt from the Slave and we all paddled straight up River towards the People's Republic. WAKA WAKA wasn't doin' too good with one arm around Fido and the other his stick.....now he was gettin' beat cause his stick was too small for him and the mutt together....and being a die hard nonconformist he doesn't use a cord, so I took the monster from him and put it on my stick, then got us into the shallows on some white water rollers.
Waist deep and the current over the sandbar was stronger than the River current....we still had over a hundred yards to go to get the mutt on dry sand.
The beast was wilded eyed and when I put him back in to swim to shore he turned back to sea and took off in the curent over and over again. So I grabbed him, rolled on my back, and swam in next to him yellin' at him all the way just to keep his attention focused on staying with me
The last 60 yard's I carried the 50 lb pig over the inside sandbars through the raging current. The mutt was a mess....shaking, whinin', hackin up seawater, foam blowing out his nostrils and mouth...and my bird legs were on fire with agony. The mutt was soo exhausted he was wobblin' like a drunk on pay day.
On the beach a big crowd was snappin' pics of The Slave and WAKA WAKA Gene-0....hearalding them as the greatest Heros the Republic has had in ages....The Dog Resucers was what I heard on the wind.
The owner of the dog was some inked up wanna be vato loco piece of work...he came pimpin' up quackin' on his cell phone and had no idea what had just transpired with his pet. We started talkin' to him and he blew us off...then was just gonna walk away. I stepped in front of him told him to put the phone up or I cram it up his sorry @ss. He thought about causing more trouble until he realized a big crowd was starin' him down....and his dog was in no condition to back him up.
He had a pack of excuses of why the dog got away....all execpt the one where he wasn't payin' any attention. The dog was beat and delsuionally disoriented...he picked it up, walked back to his truck, and split under the glare of a thousand eyes. My take is that poor dog got a nasty beatin' when they got home...should just gave the punk one like my first inclination insisted becuase he was just gonna let the poor dog wash out to sea and croak.
Fortunately pet owners here enforce the rules amongst themselves....he got the message....he won't be back. And that's one pit bull that will never think of bitin' a surf cat ever again....for any reason
WAKA WAKA GENE-O......El Christo Perrrr-O .....only he ain't too keen on savin' the human flotsam out there.....they deserve what befouls them from his perspective.
Think there's gonna be a big bronze statue cast soon.

Good job, boys. The general public doesn't realize how many tourists/nonsurfers - and pets - surfers pull out of the water every year. Glad you guys have each other's backs.
By the way, a woman in Barstow just died after being mauled by a pack of pit bulls on Tuesday evening.

Got some nice 6ft face Rockaway Beach, NY. lefts at one jetty north of 90th street. The 90th street jetty looked crowded with five guys out:shock: so I went one jetty up and had it to myself for a couple hours, then a couple other guys came out. Had one ride that must have been about a half a football field long, made it almost to the 90th street jetty
