If you have never done it, you need to do it. I suggest anything under 10ft face for starters. In my opinion, if you can do it, you can go to Pipeline, no prob. if I remember correctly. Consider it one of those lifetime experiences you should be chalking up for yourself.

i don't know about anyone else ,but getting the wedge on a good day is unlike any other place you have ever ridden. i've been doing it off and on for quite a few years(since 1980) the wave has changed alot over the years ,and the big clean days are few and far between, and there are more bodyboarders than ever. still nothing else like it

The first time I surfed it was on a bodyboard, 6-8 foot faces, pretty sick day. The lifeguard complimented me for rushing it the first time I surfed it! Yes, I'll claim that fact.
Its an unreal place. There's so much energy out there, and it is constantly refracting and concentrating in slightly different spots. Once my shoulder heals (I just had shoulder surgery) in about 1 1/2 to 2 months, I'll probably be working up to surfing serious hollow waves like that on the kneeboard. I just want to so bad!

Wedge
Yes the wedge, my brother Donny and I 1st skimboarded there in the mid
60's. Then we started to body surf the place late 60's, and finally kneeboarded the wedge early 70's. We had soooooo much fun there!
