OK looks like sunday could be the day should be a peaking swell 6-8' sun am with w n/w winds who's up for it or are we just gunna go our own ways again should be good everywhere and for the southern blow in [ walrus]
sat. should be big and windy so it'll be south end of the goldy or the will be the pass at byron but with snapper / greenmount setting up for the quick pro it will be packed so will the pass. i'm going for kingy but the sweep will be horrendous have to keep doing the run around it all depends on the wind AB

Old Crazy awoke from his slumber as the early morning light crept through the blanket of a rain and wind soaked night … a quick coffee or six and he was on his way …
reconnaissance was required … the walking tree and talking walrus had embarked … woof … bark … tree bark … surf was on the breakfast menu … ingredients needed to be gathered … swell … tide … a pinch of wind … a decent sized sweep … a hand full of snapper rocks blended with a rainbow turning into greenmount … and a boiling pot called south east Queensland on Saturday. Lumpy porridge sprinkled with an over abundance of weekend warriors … dressed in black and riding identical three finned fun machines … the things you see when you haven’t got a gun … no not the seven foot six fiberglass type … the bang bang you dead set have no idea … go away and leave me in peace … take a deep breath and count to ten type.
They came … they saw … they concurred … it was crowded and lumpy … but fun all the same. Gordo the great made an appearance … but kept well hidden from the interlopers … wise and sagely one that he is … the tree and the walrus had a pleasant time before heading off to cull a few brain cells … Old Crazy is sure that they have been practicing this delicate brain cell culling art form for quite some time … and he should know … enjoy it fellas … lifes to short … he shouted … pushing his trolley up the hill and screaming with delight as he jumped in for a roller coaster ride down the other side … shopping trolleys are so under rated … he thought … as a screeching of brakes and deafening chorus of car horns descended with him down the hill … yeehaa.

AB … I’ll check the conditions in the morning … if I’m heading your way … I’ll jump on the dog and bone.

Foot note (maybe knee note is more appropriate) :

Just a thought … RM … how’s the Ikea … screw … glue … pull your hair out … end up with a few spare pieces left over after completion going … and the packaging you have to get rid of … enjoy young man … enjoy.
Imagination is more important than knowledge.

Hey Womble,
:D :D great to meet up with you and get a surf in, yeah it wasn't picture perfect Snapper/Rainbow/Greenmount but that probably kept the crowd factor down to a mangeable level (we checked it out going back up to Brisy a/port - it was picture perfect and there were all these ants over it) the surf conditions were almost the same as what I surf at home, bar the lengths of rides, even the coffee table I was riding couldn't wipe the smile from my face.
Had an awesome get together for my mates 50th at Mullumbimby, saw some people I haven't seen in over 30 years, Reminiscing (spelling?) and rum, a good combination.
Surfed the Pass at Byron the next morning early, also not the best conditions which also meant acceptable crowd levels (in fact in one circuit of paddle out and being swept down the beach and walk back up again I only spotted a giant turtle for company - luved it) some long rides.
Driving back north after a bacon & egg refiller we passed Cabarita absolutely going off its nut - big and clean perfect rideable walls but no time (besides I think the coffee table was fairly worn out) didn't stay long as we were on a schedule but managed a "drive by" of D'bah & Snapper - also going off (ants look funny when they're all crowded together and a wave ripples through them) then off up the highway to catch a plane. Literally made it by 30 secs before they cut off confirmation at the boarding gate.
Many thanks again to Womble for your company and local knowledge & AB - AB, never got to meet you in person but many thanks for your local knowledge as to where to head and surf report & the texts, will have to make a point of catching up with you next time I come up (probably drive and bring my own board up next time.)
Awesome weekend but like a dream now that I'm typing this away at work - a few day dream moments coming up I feel.

Cheers Wolruss

might be without a job myself in a few months, I'd better spruce up the old treadley for the cycle up in the later half of the year. Come on you buggers up there, it's always left to the few to keep up the high standards we kneeboarders set ourselves, support AB in his endeavours - you big treeman, Womble (sorry don't know the other guys names AB) our poor poor AB has to do it all alone ????

Cheers, "disgusted" Wolruss

The surf this week down on the " new tweed coast " was exceptional 4 -6' out front, from tuesday right through till today, this morning being the best, off shore incoming tide 4 hours of glassy sucking left's and nice ripable right's, small crew considering how good it was, had to drag myself up the beach. Could be all over till thursday with a new sth swell pushing up the nsw coast, need some time out anyway. Could be some 2' leftovers in the morning AB

Nice to see someone’s been getting a few … unfortunately I have to work for a quid … therefore having been away for the better part of two weeks …the opportunity to surf has been negligible and hence very little water time is being achieved at present … one may even say … none at all.
More business involved travel is imminent and the disruption to surfing is guaranteed for the immediate future … although a two week sojourn down south is fast approaching …
this pattern of a work orientated lifestyle looks like continuing for some time … lotto is extremely hard to win … world domination would be far more simple if one was ridiculously wealthy … a gathering of the Knee Jerk Reactionaries is … when … question mark.

womble, if i recall the last sunday meet was not well attended by everyone except JD & myself. Am less inclined to make another attempt, surfing by ones self grows on one, a bit like imaginary friends that rattle around in the top cupboard [ old crazy ] you get used to it and then you find yourself enjoying it. But if you can drum up some enthusiasm feel free, [this sunday works for me as i will be OS the following sunday ] New swell should be here by friday AB

Yes … well … umm … let me see … the voices in my head are my reality …
and in stating that … I must attest … my reality is kind of shaky at best.
Old Crazy sang as he plodded along and pondered why 42 was the answer to
the question of life the universe and everything. Interestingly enough and by
sheer coincidence 42 was indeed precisely and absolutely not the number he
had been partaking in earlier. Somewhat puzzled by the number thing and
in an effort to curb the thought racing, Old Crazy put his indicator on and
turned his thoughts; promptly going round the bend and slamming head-on
into his emotions. World domination had seemed like a pretty plausible
plan, not to hard and seemingly fun. What had started with a seemingly
bottomless abundance of enthusiasm, was now starting to fatigue, falling
apart at the seeminglies, and the wayside. Along with all the falling,
cracks were starting to appear in the great wall of Knee Jerk Reactionary.
Was this the end? Would the Kneeolithic Kneeanderthals ever achieve world
domination? Did RM ever escape from the evil clutches of the Ikea maze?
Was it at all possible for AB to venture north of his hilly billy heaven?
Did sasquatch exist, and if so was he a plumber? Old Crazy had no way
of competing with this torrent of unanswered questions, and promptly
let his mind wander unattended. Yes he was unreliable, but you could
rely on that, and set your watch to it. Old Crazy didn’t mind people setting
their watches to him, it was when they set their dogs to him that he became
upset and bitten. Once bitten twice shy, the dogs of war, Pavlov’s dogs ding
ding, diamond dogs, dog day afternoon, dog eat dog, dog spelt backwards is
god, cat spelt backwards is tac, set your clock tick tock, a clock and a backwards
cat, a tick-tac a tacktic; tactics was what he needed, and a good lie down.
A meeting of the Knee Jerk Reactionaries could be achieved, but it was going to take
more than a cunning stunt; a cunning plan was required.
