surf report 2009
Swell has hit Bali it was 6ft at a semi secret spot i go to tune up ,its semisecret because its mostly on the fat side ,theres a similarity there
Meanwhile on the reefs was a different story ,Ulu Watu must have been around 8ft +at secrets where Paul destroyed his flashpoint
Over on the peak he reports were 2 kneelos snaring some nice sets ,that makes at least 5 kneelos on the island having run into a guy named Peter from WA earlier in the day carrying a Cordingly kb
Looks like the swell is here for at least 5 more days
I expect Tomway and Doc Turbo scored at their chosen secluded island locations
Hey BUMPS back in OZ mid June will try and catch up

wedge wasn't doing it,but 54th st yesterday and today was super fun. minus tide and wind early, but around 7:30 each morning the laid down and the tide was rising. very peaky and lots of in'n 'outs
what boat were you on ska, albies and bluefin or what. i heard they were getting both at about 95 miles.

went out on our 22' sportfisher out of mission bay... went south and fished ON the kelp in 80 feet of water in front of the big satelite dish
threw out a handful of chummed chovys and it was on! Boils all over...
every cast was a hit...
Wide open on the surface calicos but we caught rockfish, sculpin, cuda, halibut, and monster smelt and macks....
had a couple big yellowtail stalk my 9" swimbait but never hit it..
we lost a few big fish to the kelp...so maybe..
sooo fun , cant wait to get back out there!
...If i ever do catch a bluefin, il probably eat a handful of sashimi and sell the rest of the fish! It would easily pay for another trip

Hi Tom, the brief photos show a sample of what we had... Swell continues this week, but I am working some... finallytomway wrote:All-time swell forecast to hit in the next few hours here and continuing relentlessly in to the middle of next week.
Jakarta kneelos are back on the feral boat for 4 days and I'm stoked to be given the go ahead for a blitz on the local slabs... good days ahead for everyone in Indon![]()

Decent south in the water.Checked downtown this am,20 bodies no surf... Surfed a bit north and got some decent 2-4 + reef point waves.Glassy,5 local buds.SE wind killed it about 2pm.Storm surf says a bit bigger tom.Seeing is believing.Buoys were reading 56-58 deg.this morn.A bit warm for the 5-4-3... Friend said east side cruz was good...That true?
cheers

Kauai, yes?
Got out mid-morning South-mid-beach. Syd stopped on his way back and we caught up a bit. He's in fightin' shape! Getting ready for Indo...
Syd, I went out at that section. The four or so others disbanded after about 20 minutes. Surfed a little under two hours by myself (Sat AM!)
The water is toasty. The South was still coming through in about every 10 minutes, with predictable 3-wave sets. About chest/shoulder, and with the angle were clean despite a bit of wind texture.
The wind was coming up as I left.
Other sections of the beach were crowded.
Beautiful day out today. Ended it all with tacos and a Bohemia.
Maybe tomorrow super-early...

Johnnys and I got some good ones this morning down this
way. Low tide, offshore and some nice ends early AM.
Seemed to get fatter and slower as the tide came up. It
blew out hard this afternoon. Hopefully there will be enough
swell left tomorrow for inside the bay but I'm thinking its
going to require some driving to get it good.
