Surf report 2009

Hey Alfredo, you may want to revise your plans. Check out Stormsurf's quickcast for Central Cal. Looks like you and Freddy might have something coming as early as tomorrow afternoon. Probably a little too steep for us down here in the OC. John Lee Hooker's got nothing on those ol' flat spell blues... :(

Small for weeks.Nothing over 2ft.cry:Any decent swell we've had coincided with the worst red tide in memory.Plugged sinues, ear infections were the norm.Stayed out of the water....Looks like a building nw tomorrow, hopefully get a few decent waves if the wind stays down.Strong winds blew the red scourge out to sea.Thank god!
Got me a ticket for kauai, leaving next thurs...for a month.Nice cheap house and a cheap four door beater. My bro says there's a good swell coming the day I arrive, suppose to last at least a week.He thinks I've got the magic juju,Every time I go; the west side turns on...

cheers

Have fun over there K!

I have a feeling its going to be good tomorrow, more
swell and decent direction.

Some funky stuff may be happening State Parkwise
tomorrow. Word is Manresa Uplands campground and
beach access lot will be closed till May next year.

The State is closing the gate and locking it up. Same
for Palm Beach here also and maybe more as time
goes on.

Haven't been down that way for awhile, believe I'd camped out at sunset beach camp site.Nice spot.Drove in after dark, drove out before the ranger got there to collect... Shameful! That mean the beaches are closed to the public?Probably a long assed walk!

No talk of closing Sunset state beach yet. That would indeed be
a long hike in. I'd have to start riding my motorcycle through
the fields and hiding it in the bushes!

JohnnyS and myself got a bunch of fun ones this morning
back at the same peak I surfed yesterday. Sunny, glassy
and a bit bigger today. Some really nicely shaped rights
breaking in shallow water - good stuff for the KB. 8)

South Ocean Beach was a great time yesterday afternoon although the paddle out left something to be desired. HH+ sets, sun, no wind, and warm but damned that water is cold.

Going for more today!!!

that was punishing...OB yesterday late afternoon. Tried to paddle out middle beach through double overhead sets only to get denied and sent down the beach all the way to Kelley's.

6' board with no flippers doesn't cut it when it's that size.

But I'll try again today.

Just got back

Fun times at Stinkin' Lincoln

Rips kept all busy, but, boy, nice day! Not the biggest or baddest, but darn fun. Some nice barrels were on tap. Tide was dropping hard for the latter 1/2 of the session.

Surfed alongside a kneelo with a green board for a bit, then ran into 'Bob' at the end of the session.

Mid-beach was looking pretty good on the way back.
