I want to enter but last time I was in the contest it rained (Oceanside) KSUSA rescheduled and I could not attend and lost out. What are HB City rules as far as canceling contest. Will surf in any waves with anyone. I would rather have clean cinditions but will they make us reschedule. Same as last time just a better excuse to go surf. I guess I should just nut up with all the other guys and let the surf gods dieide.
To do what I want to do
I have to do what have to do
FYI- The move to a traditional 64 man single elimination open with 4 man heats was made in response to suggestions from the judging crew from last year's contest. They felt that changing to that format would better prepare contestants for competitve events. That seemed OK to us because we still have the AA and AAA to offer up a more relaxed environment. We will see how this works out this year. If people don't like this format we can go back to the crazy and complex six man double elimination reducing to 4 man format we have used in years past. With the old format people actually complained that they had to surf too many heats! Hopefully this new format will strike a happy medium.
Yes, Barry... I was "watching" the final from the Cliff. (The surf was flat Thursday and Friday)
What's your excuse for "watching" the final from the water?
I mean, I know Gavin is good, but were you guys out there being cheerleaders? Was the surf too big? Did you, Backer, and Rob just crack under the pressure?
Was there a group hug? A Tap-Out?
It was weird.
Gavin had a 9.7 and a 9.2 withing the first 8 minuets... it was a 35 minuet final... yet still, he was the only one surfing.
It was like a Flashpoint Expression Session.
As Fred Willard would say: "Wha Happen?"
It's all good, buddy... we know you tried. (Sort of)

P.S. If you paddle out with Albert on your back , I guarantee I will have a laughing induced seizure.
P.S.S. Who cares if someone surfed "too much". Keep the AA, and let the AAA become the repo.
Hopefully, there will be waves, and none of this will matter.
You guys both rip and both capable to win this event. Small or big. Friendly competion is great. I'm glad kneelo's still have it in us.
Thank goodness both Barry and Ed kneeboard. There are a pleasure to watch and make our sport interesting. Huntington Southside will be epic and Bolsa is rest down the beach. Good times for sure.
On-Line and Mail-in entries are starting to come in. We've got almost 30 entries so far. This year's event is limited to 64 contestants. Get your entries in early so you don't get left out.
