Blue Moon & a New Year

Post by surfhorn »

Tonight is a blue moon = second full moon in a month. Last night the beach was gorgeous- there is a red tide and the phosphoresence was outstanding.

May you all have a wonderful new year and that 2010 will bring you all less stress and more love.

For knowledge is limited to all we now know and understand.
While imagination embraces the entire world, and all there ever will be to know and understand.

new year

Post by frankfqr »

Scored today, reef slab showing small and inconsistent but no one around, tide droping, went out to"get wet". Within 10 mins. of entering the slight wind stopped and a new forcasted swell started showing. Each set bigger and better. Barrelfest merry-go-round. Still solo. Then it went sheet glass and off the charts!!! I didn't get a chance to rest and sit for 2hrs. and only shortly. I let so many perfect waves go by cus I wanted only the flawless ones. Deep views, and watching the ones real off on the paddle back out was insane. Logged 3hrs, all solo, tide got to low and the crowd descended as I was leaving, I'm spent. Kept telling myself--HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!

Next day, same time, same place, round 2. Swell filled in hitting the reef differently, not as perfect or flawless, had to settle for very good waves and session 8) . Word was out so crowd was on it but still manageable. Plenty pits . Happy New Year to All!!!

Did a New Years Eve surf at County Line. With the full (blue) moon out, no wind, 1 to 3' surf, and best part of all NO ONE OUT  . Surfed from 11pm to about 1230am, what a way to bring in the new year "Surfing". HAPPY NEW YEAR :D Anthony A.
