I like this one,Pretty solid reporting, and is a bit conservative.

I just need to walk 200 ft to the bluff to substantiate what I've just read...

good call Kman I use that one when I travel, :) they give out a lot of info without etching their predictions in granite. 8) That is how it should be.

I just use the coastal waters forecast to 20nm out from NOAA. usually very accurate with winds and swell heights, but forecasting on the east coast is much different than out west. just track the storm fronts, and when they pass, get on it. also, living on top of a giant sand dune with a view of the ocean doesn't hurt either.

I an usually tell by the way the clouds are...

If they are broken choppy clouds its SW

If they are solid coverage its a west

If they are stacked up on the mountains and its sunny its NW

Lets see.. it never has surf in the rain, always sunny when there is surf

hermanos...you remember old school...watch the weather reports, the swell direction, play the tides...you know what and where the surf is!!! Sure the computer is nice and easy, but there is nothing like wave knowledge to tell you where the surf is likey to be....old school stylee, seen!!!!
