Check out the article re: Freeline where John Mel shaped Steve Lis a KB in 1968 before Lis started shaping.......the predecessor (sp) of the Fish.

Keala Kennaly's father Brian, was in that early OB shop with John Mel also it said. I remember seeing pic's of him at pipe in early seventies. I heard Lis got some pintails from John Mel in mid sixties in his OB shop and Bunker Spreckels also. Kneeboarding has always been a small world. That movie- Hydrodynamica- sounds pretty cool it has unreal Big Rock Kneeboarding in it when it was almost kneeboard only spot.Kenvin was going to make a movie solely on kneeboarding at Big Rock in the seventies because it was/is some of the best SURFING ever!!
