Hey i just thought id put it out there but has anyone ever tried to get some bigger names from the stand up world down to kneeboard world titiles? I know that money and that is/could be an issue but look at guys like slater (kneels every now and then, even in robs movie the drifter), Beau Young (kneeboards for fun and to mix it up), Ross Clarke Jones (used to kneeboard when he was young) etc. Whos to say they wouldnt be interested in popping down or anything (also isnt bells around that time too?)?...it couldnt hurt right? there is no harm in trying. After all the more noise we can make about events like world titles and that the better!...the more young kids we can get in to the sport the better and stronger it will be in the future. Which makes me wonder how come the juniors and cadets get sent out in the worst surf of the day? We are trying to promote the sport. On the dvd from NZ world titles its the same guys that always get a showing...and dont get me wrong for one second they are amazing surfers but what about the guys like Shane Whitehouse with his perfect ten or other juniors? i just feel we need to show more of the young kids but thats my opinion. I dont know if any of these comments could help but i thought it was worth mentioning at least...

Kends,
I think you've got a point with getting some exposure for you younger guys....Shane Whitehouse is an awesome surfer and I believe you've beaten him a couple of time too, there are a couple a young guys from NZ that impress me also. Down our way (or from your point of view...up our way) the Mooses, Adam (who is recovering from a really bad motorcycle accident) Jake( whose in the armed forces now) & Kurt whose come ahead in leaps & bounds lately. If one of the film makers could include some of these guys in there footage it gives the other young up & comers something to aspire to (as well as giving the older guys a feeling the sport is in good hands).
If any of you film makers are out there reading this it might be something to consider. putting some footage of the next generation in your most excellent kneeboarding movie.
My 2 cents worth anyway.
Cheers Wolruss

Hey wolruss i agree with what you have said and yes there are some guys from around the world like Roids (NZ) and Chris Linn (USA) but unless as i said we can better promote this fine sport who else is there underneath us (we are only lucky enough to get some of the kids of kneelos at the moment anyway...let alone others that have never been involved in the sport)?
But also as i said you have younger guys driving down to phillip island or up to bendy or coffs for comps and then the attitude is always ohh we will just stick the juniors in whenever (which is 99% of the time when the surf is the worst). I honestly believe the younger ages need to be put in with nearly the same preference as the opens.
