San Diego, CA (March 1, 2025) – The 2025 Kneeboard Surfing USA Titles and Kneeboard Festival will be held at Oceanside Harbor’s South Jetty on Friday, March 14, 2025. The event was originally scheduled for February 14 in Huntington Beach but needed to be rescheduled due to severe weather.

In addition to crowning a U.S. champion, the event will serve as an important qualifier for the next world titles event being held in Brazil in 2026. The event was last held in Oceanside in 2017, a contest won by Huntington Beach legend Tom Backer.

One of the premier kneeboarding events in the world, the Kneeboard Surfing USA Titles will include dozens of the sport’s top competitors. San Juan Capistrano’s Kevin Skvarna will defend his 2023 and 2024 Open division titles. In his way are San Diego kneeboarders Chris Beresford, Jack Beresford, Bill Lerner, and Sam Coyne. Both Beresford brothers and Lerner are former champions. Coyne is a distinguished international competitor who will be looking to win his first U.S. title.

In the women’s division, former champions Rachel Lord and Patti Hook are expected to compete for the title. In addition, the contest will include divisions for Junior’s (under 20) as well as AAA and AA divisions. For 2025, a limited number of Junior’s competitors can enter for free.

Heats will begin at 7 a.m. weather and waves permitting. The public is invited to attend this free event. Registration information for the 2025 Kneeboard Surfing USA Titles is available at www.ksusa.org.

“The KSUSA Titles is considered one of the premier kneeboard surfing events in the world,” said Jack Beresford, KSUSA President. “U.S. kneeriders have demonstrated they can hold their own against the best in the world, and we expect the performance level to be through the roof.”

The event comes just seven months after the CineFX Kneeboard Surfing World Titles held at the Jeffreys Bay, South Africa. That event set a new benchmark for kneeboard surfing performance and generated excitement about future competitions, including the 2026 Kneeboard Surfing World Titles being held in Saquarema, Brazil. Results of the 2025 and 2026 US Kneeboard Titles will be used to rank US team members planning to compete in Brazil.

Premier Sponsors include Bird’s Surf Shed, Block Surf, BruSurf, Casa Sirena Surf Lodge (Nicaragua), Freeline Design, Kneelo Gear, Parkes Kneeboards, TK’s Frog House, Isurus Wetsuits, Race-Trac Traction Co., ROM Beer Co., and Walden Surfboards. Event Sponsors include GryptaLite High Performance Traction, Hanalei Fins, Jeff Jensen, Plastic Fantastic Surfboards, Stevo Kneelo Creations, Stonefish Skegs, and Tidelines Tide Calendars.

Established in 2003, Kneeboard Surfing USA is dedicated to promoting camaraderie in the sport of Kneeboard Surfing through competitions, kneelo gatherings and other activities. KSUSA has hosted 17 U.S. Titles and one World Titles event to help promote the sport and pass on the stoke to new generations of kneeriders.
