yes have to applie for a base pass, all info above true BUT
been told can mail or internet applie for pass, do not have to BE A kauai resident now,
repet, " I'VE BEEN TOLD!"
sorry K-man, lots of waves in Kekaha especialy if it's a big swell

oscalivada, lots of waves if its big on that side. Pound-a-haole go's off. The base is open most of the time. Can call 808-335-4249 (?) I think they give info. If your current or ex military, they rent killer houses cheap right on the beach. Last time I was there, no foot prints in the sand but ours!!!!
BUT! forget all that, call or pm me and come up to the north!! We'll get ya real wet (and then some). Boards? can do

Good info guys..thanks.E-mailed the base and they sent me the forms for a visitor card....Info below. have a friend in the area and they can drop off the info at the gate beforehand.
We have a Guest Card for all those 18 years and above. I have attached
the two page application, there is a $20 fee, per person, to process a
State and Nationwide background check. The application must be dropped
off at the Visitors Pass & ID office located out front before the Guard
Shack. The process takes about three weeks.
