Epoxy kneeboards

How do you feel about about epoxy kneeboards?

get the best shaper s and have them take their most successful designs and epoxy them.

I have a Al Merrrick Epoxy M13 and that thing is a rocket and so easy to control.

Epoxy kneeboards

If Blast will make a 5'9" Fish 2K, I'm a buyer. 'Course I probably won't be buying one a year after that....

What's the expected useful live of epoxy boards in years, assuming 100 sessions a year?

How much lighter are they compared to the same shape glassed light?

I rode them for a while, about 4 years, while clark foam stopped making the blanks that most kneeboards are made out of. Liked them fine, except that i found them less flexy than regular resin boards, and if they dinged they were a pain in the ass to fix.

I am glad I ride resin boards now, I realized I was losing a lot of speed off the bottom by not having that really really tiny flex that resin boards have. You see, epoxy boards dont flex at all, they are light, expensive and durable. But they are not for me.

THanks

I am about to build myself a 6' x 231/2" thrusta, from clark 602c blank and will be glassing with e-glass and epoxy resin. I have priced the board using polyester and epoxy and the latter adds only £25 to the material cost, a small price to pay I think for the added durability. True I will probably spend slightly more time sanding and laminating, but not much. I would prefer to use s-glass, but this is over twice the price of e- glass, probably adds a further £15 to the cost. I will post pictures when finished.
cheers
