kneeboard bag

Hi,

Any suggestions for a kneeboard travel bag for my Blast 5-10?? I tried to fit it into an 8' funboard bag and it was too wide-the zipper would not come close to closing.

What brands or types to you guys use??

try buying the kneeboard bag from dean cleary.

50 bucks and accomodate up 6'2" and 25 inches wide.

Yeah, the Cleary bag is the way to go w/o having to break your bank.

What kinda travel?

If it's for air flights, the only way for me to go is a Santa Monica SurfCase - bags are fine for cars, but not aircraft!

www.surfcase.com half board case holds two kneeboadrs 23.5 wide x9.5 thick x length 4'.3'' two 7'.0'' looks good to me .also try www.dsurf.com

Have an "On A Mission" bag", (some refer to them as OAM bags for short), the back accordiens (I probably spelled that wrong) out to accomodate fins, I think mine is around 6'1" in length, but there is a divider on the inside that is meant to separate 2 boards (it's much easier if you have FCS or REDX). Well padded, reflective on one side and has kept my wax from melting when the car heats up. A little $$ but it does a good job.

There's a group in Byron Bay who make kneeboard travel bags - I think they are only about $100 Australia for the single 10mm ones. They also make double travel bags as well. I've been using them forever (the singles and the doubles) and been on all sorts of airlines from good to bad, as well as in the back of and on the roof of cars and never had a problem. Dave Parkes sells 'em, and if you are buying from the US then the exchange rate could make it worth while.....

sometimes he has multiboard bags to sell form Mr. Parkes. For a day bag I agree with Caples I use the OAM double bag. My 6'0 24" wide board fits fine it also has some pockets for extra fins and leashes. Wise sells them for about $135, he keeps them in stock as well.

Has anyone had dramas with zippers seizing up? I recently had to cut a board out of a 'Full Boar' bag as the salt seemed to react with the aluminium zip. This was a shame as it's a nice bag. (I tried everyting from soaking, heating it, WD40 etc)
The zip material used might be someting to consider when purchasing.
My other bag (the one mentioned from Parkes) has a full plastic/nylon zip and is great.

* The bag in question had nylon tracks but an alloy runner. It had been sitting for a few months unused and it's seizure may well be my fault for not washing down the board properly - another tip for young players...
