This property is across from a small park that fronts Back Yards lefts.

Walk out the gate.....across the park and you're looking at ........see the pict that heads this forum.

Vacatin rentals are VERY HARD TO COME BY these days during the winter.

Better jump on it!

i think Chief (Edgar) and another kneeboarder from kealakekua (Frank) will be there as well. the Big Isle will be well represented.

since I've purchased my flight and booked a car, I guess you can take me off of the "more than likely to come " list and put me on the "commited to coming" list, for feb 15 to march 3. Whew. Now all I need is a cool place to stay (cheap!) ...

Bud

Thanks for the rating..it is appreciated

But we are trying to focus on Matt Gallagher right now..blanks have been ordered and he is included in on the gun briefing with Simon when foam arrives..(next week or so..the blanks involve a lotta work. Like two surfboard blanks required to create each kneeboard over 6'5"..)

I so want to help get him there along with Farrer.

And quite frankly, Matt and Simon's involvement will contribute much more than I ever could.

Besides, my deal happens to happen first..and for that alone, I am very excited.

:)

Thanks for the trip..but for now, manyana.

Ok,
List is updated to reflect new responses...........see above.

Rating?
What rating?
Is this a beauty pagent?

Come on Bruce, you'll have heaps of fun and get some first hand experience beyond the beaches between DeWhy and North Narrabeen.
(The waves in the pic at the start of this forum gotta be as good as Northy, don't you think? Plus it's a peak with rights that look the same.)

You're a big lad and I bet you played footy.
Surfing here can be like like contact sports!
It'll be good for your reputation, board business (could even work as a tax right off) and more importantly good for the sport.

more on who should go

Post by DarcyM »

Sorry that Jack can't make it. Unlike me, he's got family ties and work commitments and all, the same is true for a lot of you folks out there. Sure it costs some money, but you don't have to be independently wealthy to afford it, it can be done fairly cheap as holidays go. Plus if there's ONE surf trip you all should make, this has got to be the one. Bud takes care of his people, that's for sure, and the North Shore does the rest. Definitely do it before you're too old!

Interesting to note that ...
Tom Linn & Mark Robertson
are coming as a couple. Hmmm ... sorry guys, someone had to mention it.

:P
camp KSUSA at Malae'kahana?
Thanks Mike - definitely consider it if other housing options don't pan out.

Other people I think should go, not on Bud's list ...

Tony Bonner (you have one free burn on Syd still owed ya)
Tom Backer (Sunset and Tom are made for each other)
Bob Schiff (el rollo's at Lani's?)
Mike Butler (would love to see Ler charging Backyards)
Greg Little (more tatoos!)
Brad Caldwell (can't ask for a happier guy to surf with)
Dave Weinbaum (it won't be as good at Black's)
Ed Dimick (stealth contest spoiler and charger)
Ken Stapleton (another shot of reef rash, Kenny?)
Mark Ashby (only cuz he owes me money ... :P )

and more of the ladies? Kathy? Tonina? It'll be fun and the water is so nice!

Thanks Darcy for the additions.
Hard to think clearly and include everyone off the top of my head.
Been putting wood sealer on miles of hard wood trim that's going into the redo of my "gazebo". The fumes are intense even with masks and cross ventalation.
Mix that with clouds of foam dust and........WHEWWWW!

I should think there'd be a real frenzy out in the surf today, Sunday Oct. 3. it's a VERY SOLID 8' from 340 degrees out at Sunset. But there's only been about 15 guys out all morning.
Wind is a wee bit cross shore NNE but light. Faces are smooth and rides are long.
My friend kneerider Ray Ebaugh just dropped by after surfing 6' Pupukea.
He said it was great fun. (He got most of the sets. 8) )
Again just few people out.
This place has waves to suit everyone, on most days.
A big plus is the large number of places to ride and nearly constant swell.
If you've never been here before THIS IS THE YEAR TO DO IT!

And Dorje,
I've got heaps of Aussie ties......... :D
My dad grew up in Mosman Sydney 1904-1920.
My grand mother was from Townsville.
I've got cousins in South Oz and Kangaroo Island.
My grand father drilled the first artesian water well out near "back of Burke" which opend up the vast farming of the NW NSW. He also ran a factory that made the pick/shovel tool that was used by Aussie troops during WWI.
Though personally, I do not identify myself to any nation, group, cult, religion, club, persuasion etc. etc.
