Greek opened a shop in downtown Santa Cruz somewhere around 1970-71; didn't last long, though.

But I did have a Greek tee shirt ........a nice surf shirt that finally rotted off my back.

WOW!

I had one of these things.
Mine was nearly exactly the same excpt it had olive green bottom and rails.

I rode it with a 10" deep Greenough template fin and soon after added 4" base X 4" deep wooden side fins just ahead of the main fin.
It worked well.

It was the last spoon I ever owned.

One time the 10" deep fin struck the reef, while surfing low tide Acid Drop on Kauai, during a bottom turn and I got launched off the front of the board. :x
Another time, I nearly had my throat cut by the long deep single fin while surfing 4-5' Honolua Bay Maui.
(I still wear the scar under my chin.)

That ended the single fin era for me.

Bud
In the foot boarding world over here single fins are coming back. Have you seen any new singles your way?

Yeah. bud, those flex fins can exact quite a high price. A friend was surfing a low tide spot off of Black's Point in Santa Cruz back in the mid 1970's. Caught the 12" flex fin just below his jaw/ear area. Took 13 hours of micro surgery and, todady, he still lacks movement on that side of his face.
