Since we're close to the forecast window...
Look at the direction and period for the whole story. 300+ degrees is fairly far North, and 12-13 seconds isn't super strong. It'll wrap, but not as hard as a 270 with longer period.
That said, looks like we should get some.
Our SF forecaster is looking out for us at www.blakestah.com/surf/

I was out at sunset picking up some more raffle goodies from my friend who reps for NHS, Inc. Lines from a new swell were starting to come into The Point/Capitola area.
I dropped off tickets and info at Freeline so everyone can start buying raffle tickets immediately for your chance at all the killer boards.
We woke to another brilliantlly sunny day. Looks like its going to hold for the week.

Is there any way to find to post the first few heats? I won't be arriving until late Weds. night and would hate to blow it .
We had the season opener at Blacks on Sunday, OH+, glassy all day, I walked down twice I was so excited,it was real Black's, A-Frames at North Peak and lined up walls at the South.See you all on Thurs.

Joe,
I was planning to leave around 5 a.m. so I could get through most of the LA morning commute mess and hit Rincon by 8 or 9 for a tune-up. I'd then hit the road north and hope to get to Santa Cruz around 4 or 5, depending on when I leave Rincon.
If this plan sounds good to you, give me a PM and I'll give you my phone number so we can hook up.

trip
Scott or anyone,
Is it faster from So. Orange County to come up the HWY 101 or take the I-5, then cut over as you suggested. Map quest gives a 101 route but I'm not so sure that's the fastest.

This is the way...to Santa Cruz
Take I-5 to 152 pass Casa de Fruita.
When you get to Gilroy follow the signs to 152W to Watsonville over Hecker Pass Mt. Madonna. (Drive careful it's a windy road.)
After you pass the Santa Cruz County Fair Grounds, turn right on Holohan which turns into Airport and takes you to Hwy1 N.
Get off at 41st Ave. and stop by Freeline Design on your way to Pleasure Point.

I'm not sure I'm going to get this right, but left in the Opens for tomorrow semis are:
Jack Beresford (surfing w/new knee injury)
Barry Baker
Marc Crawford
Bill Lerner
Bob Schiff
Tom Linn
Don Harris
John Mel
AA and AAA are running now. Great day of sun and surf. Very clean and contestable. Not epic, but very fun! Pix and video should be great.
