Its getting closer!!!!!!!!

Post by barry »

How much longer do we have to wait until Feb gets here??????
Gosh, its like waiting for Christmas morning when I was younger (Patience?)
Jon Manss is at Backyards this week surely scoring the goods along with Bud.
I am very excited about this gathering. It is also good to hear that Baden will make it as I haven't seen him since 98. (Other than in Simon's videos).
Any updates on other folks making it?
come on Steeno you deserve a break after your new years adventure!!!
See you all next month 8)

even living on the outer islands i really look forward to surfing on Oahus north shore every year. it really is the seven mile miracle. having so many other kneelos to hang and surf with is the icing on the cake. 8)

hey barry
I still have not ruled it out....but it depends on whats going on here....I have made a big investment in a new retail setup I am diving into which will open in early february..............so i have to make some rules for myself......you know i dont like to miss out.
If I come it will be a last minute decision, depending on whats happening with my business, Simon said he will come get me at the airport and drop me back if I come............so mt door is still open.

I might just walk around the corner and suprise you..... :D

surprise me

Post by barry »

Steen
Please do surprise me that would be great. I would even make the airport run myself seeing how Simon will have the family with him. and I figure I owe you a ride or 2 or 10 after the hospitality you showed me in the gong., Sylv as well since she took the time to shuttle me to the airport in sydney. Not to mention the weeks/months that I spent on your lounge. just say the word and I am there for you bro.

The list has been updated.
(Please inform me if I forgot anyone)

We've got a great crew headed over for this years gathering.
For those who are a little aprehensive about the surf being overwhelming...............

It's been "relatively" small most of the time this winter.
Heaps of fun hotdog surf with a couple of mega swells.
Crowds are unusualy light.
Seems to be the trend this season.
I expect it to be so for next month.

I surf 4-6' Rocky Pt. yesterday morning at 9:am.
5 guys / girls out. when I arrived.
I watched for 30 minutes and the best waves went unridden (and it was perfect! :? ) Nobody was in the right place.
I had John Manns in tow and he opted to take pictures.

Next we headed to Mokuleia. We had nice 4-8' + surf at the Mokuleia Beach Park Rights. About 15 people out, but lots of waves for all.
A few wash out sets thrown in.

Cracked the East side for the early with Pat Holzman and 1 other guy.
3-5' Bali style loooonnnnngg perrrrrrfect barrles. Super clean and fun.
So clean clear & beautiful!

Been semi stormy this month........this is good. Best to get this over with now.
February should fine up just right.

Anyone "on the fence" about coming over...........
If you don't, you are blowing it BIG TIME!

Mike,
I'm considering camping for a night or two, depending on the surf. So I may see you guys there. Another big west being created as we speak (type). Good for you Big Island guys.

With the discussion about NS fashion on the other thread (hey - the sequins pulled off my thong and got embedded in the wax!), I found a piece in today's local paper that may have a place on flat NS days:
80 or so children are being entertained by young folk from the Scripture Union Family Mission. A large square has been etched in the sand, and inside this about 40 youngsters are enjoying a game of Toilet Tiggy. I say "enjoying", but some are dubious. Two instructors demonstrate. If you are "tagged", you must squat and hoop your arms so that you resemble a toilet bowl. To be released from this mildly embarrassing pose, another contestant must park his or her bum on your arms and say "flush".
Let em squat, I say

Ok,

PARTY HAS STARTED! :D

Russell Stott showed up today :o and scored insane small waves with few people. Fast perfect 3-4 lefts. 8)
He just droped by to rave to me about how great it was.
(I was burried in foam dust :( )

He's camping out at Malaekahana.
A very happy camper.

List is updated.

Bud,

I will be there on a south shore family vacation Feb 16 - 21 and will make it up north a couple of times. Are there any other south shore kneeboarders that I can hookup with?

Curtis
