Steeno,

Bonnie and I have been thinking about our next trip to Oz. Keep those temps around... surfing in boardies... wow, what a concept. When our surf pumps it's 4/3 or 5/3 with hood & booties.

Post the pics...

Cheers,

Don

Saturday
8 foot lefts walk from home
Sunday
10 foot left wedges into 200 m lined up walls 10 minutes drive nth from home.
Wed nite as per Steens review but out front of the house again.
New years eve was also all time.
33 days and at least 7 days of great surf
Bring it on.
Enjoy Hawaii if your going
Those people staying at home might get some swells to soften the blow of missing the trip.
Buddy McCray is setting new standard with regards to going surfing with your friends this month.
Hope all you guys leave him with the good karma he deserves.

It's been a little unsettled Down Under lately, but there is swell (see last para) - and they call this SUMMER:

"The water temperature at Sydney's beaches plunged from 22C to an Arctic 14C after westerly winds blew the surface water out to sea.

At Deniliquin in southern NSW the temperature reached just 11.7C - the lowest maximum in 140 years.

The Victorian and NSW Alps were blanketed with snow. About 15-20cm fell at Mt Buller and Falls Creek, while at Thredbo, snow was still falling at 11am yesterday and icy winds of more than 130km/h were whipping through the village.

And in Queensland, there were 10 lightning strikes every 60 seconds overnight on Wednesday.

In Bass Strait, 20m waves battered the Spirit of Tasmania II, forcing it to abandon a treacherous crossing to Devonport."

Seldom known bombies showing themselves. Perfect offshore for 2 days..
....now if it was just 2 foot bigger...

Actually it's already dropped back to 5ft and the beach breaks are firing

Another excellent day at Ocean Beach, San Franciskee! Checked it this am,
plenty of swell, too much tide and gnarly. Down to Santa Cruz, eventually a session at Davenport. OK, nothing that great, smallish, "chilly" vibe. Rolling down the hill from Fort Funston, Wheehah! Well overhead, offshore plumes and perfect peaks.
...and it was Good.
Should have slept in, saved the gas, relaxed and hit it here at home. City folks (and friends who visit), can we agree this has been a GREAT winter? Ocean Beach Rocks!

S.B., saltly and stoked...

ps who was that kber I saw at Waddell reef?

Yup. Good winter!

Big tide drain these days... afternoons have been better.

Lots of storms predicted next week.

Feed now, feed often. Kite flying season is coming!

BTW, SB, have we met? I'm not familiar with your handle...

Cheers!

The north reefs are happening up here.Offshore,warm,3-5 bigger sets. Two of us for three hrs.high tide was mushy. Will go back later, middle of the ebb should be real good .
Had to change the middle fin on the flash-a bit too slidey.
Hey,shark-bait,if ya come back over this way,I'll introduce you to a few neat places, bring your shark repellant
batteries went dead on the camera-naturally,no pics, maybe tomorrow.

cheers :)

The buoys have been staying at 12 seconds + and over 7 feet since early last week. Some onshore sessions and some pristine offshore groundswell days too.
I've been surfing a Blast tri fin and a Flashpoint thruster all week. Fun rides on both and the cool water feels good.

who needs waves when you can play cricket????!!!!

an unprecedented 18 weekends in a row of crap or next to crap surf along the 13 beach stretch - however a month of good mondays for those not working on that day - bloody amazing timing - what have i done Huey?

so ive been talked into playing the last 4 weeks of the season at the local cricket club - that should get the surf pumping

its hard to read the north shore 05 stuff - but then hearing that parkesy and simon are ripping eases the frustration

theres gotta be a happy report from me soon!

Dear SFKneelo,
Nope, we haven't had the pleasure of meeting. I slept through the last SF gathering (which sounded brutal!)...was down the beach from a pod of us last week Thursday (I was on my standup fish and couldn't allow myself to be seen "footsurfing")...man, THAT was a FUN day, eh? Saw a guy with a 4-fin Blast getting out around Pacheco Wednesday (yesterday)- was that you?

Dear K-Man,
I'd SO love to surf witcha up there...what a beautiful area. I'm trying to get up there every other Friday to teach my girlfriend to surf, she and I both love it there. Don't often have the ride but if I can, I'll call you...feel free to pm me your number. Man, that'd be fun.
Don't possess a shark repelent...maybe patchoulli? Repells me.
Great to meet you and the inimitable Dr. Strange that afternoon.

Dear Everybody,
Good waves to all. Wish I could enjoy those warm south swells coming this summer, Beeline. Man,I used to love
Cotton's Point
Trestles
Pipes (Encinitas)
Ponto
Santa Ana Rivermouth
anywhere from State St to County LIne
Jalama
etc etc etc
