U offically realize that kneeboarding is in your blood when
You have trouble getting your shoes and socks on: because after that last 3-4 hour session, you now have no skin left on top of your toes !!!
Then you have to put up with the wife "Bleating" about how she's going to get the blood stains out of the toes of your socks ???
This only applies to our "Finned Bretheren" !!!
Also - Surfhorn mentioned taking the Wettie under warrenty back for Kneepad replacements.
I've had the same problem - with elbows - kind of relates to using fins - lying prone on the board and kicking, really stuffs the bottom of the elbows - and keeps the shop owner wondering how the hell you do it ???
"Hey - It's under warrenty man" !!!

HAVE SPARE KIDNEY - WILL TRAVEL FOR SURF !!!
When you dust off one of your surfboards, take off, then think this is pretty damm boring!
Such a trip! Felt like I was in slow motion while surfing.
So used to being immediatedly slotted with my KB that the pump or bottomturn on a surfboard seems like I'm wasting time and missing the best part of the wave.
Such a different trip being on a KB and being so close to moving water - talk about Tapping the Source! I think we're more into it than anyone else, except of course the real locals that already have built in flippers.
BTW, I LOVE my Blast 4 fin! Found the sweet spot a while ago, no need to mess with the fins, they've already be sussed out. So cool seeing the the difference in a boards that I learned on (a Romo knockoff to a Blast) - Both equally good in their own respects but think the Romo style is intended for Gaping barrels only.
And God dammit, I LOVE grabbing my rail on huge arc/turns and steep boily sections - so Go Fu(koff

you realize kneeboarding is in your blood when....
you take a trip to oahu in JUNE - score the north shore and south shore, get barreled, get smacked on the reef, pinned to the bottom with your board on top of you, have your boardshorts ripped apart when you're caught inside, gash your hand at sunset because Bud's neighbors needed you to move your car yet 4 hours later they still haven't actually done anything that would require you to hurry in from sunset and slip and fall on the reef, meet up with some wahines, re-connect with your freshman year roomie from college, hike, snorkel, party....
...and never think once about riding a standup.
i don't think i'll ever be scared of a CA wave again.

i don't count cortez as a CA wave!
as for mavs, oh yeah man i'm all over that, what with my 5 months kneeboarding experience!
perhaps i should have clarified and said SOUTHERN CA wave, since we norcal-ers consider ourselves our own principality and not at all like you socal born and raised whack-jobs.
you'll see me at macking blacks though, i promise!

i won't out your PM to the rest of the board because it would be petty, but, dude, you really ought to lighten up. nothing i wrote was a personal affront on anyone! if you can't take a little norcal/socal heckling you're taking life too seriously. if you suddenly think i'm "not cool" based on my post, i'm totally devastated that someone i've never met before changed their opinion of me based on random online postings - many of which are done under the influence of boozer/anger/boredom.
i'd be glad to meet up with you so you can assess for yourself what kind of man i am - i also hear you got the hook ups on some kava too - maybe we could share a session and a drink. i'll be in the HB area this weekend (and for a lot of this summer - coaching stuff), let me know! (thats me trying to keep my negativity down - its all good bro! no haters!)
