Eight straight days of decent surf! The reefs have been real good, very few people.Didn't have the energy for the 20 minute downhill walk,or the 20 min uphill walk
Surfed the bunnie slopes in town.Shoulder high + the sets Great left bar.5 souls sharing...sort of  tourists get the leftovers.
Managed to put in 10 hrs of work this week..great clients. Why I love this small town.
The surf report says my home break is 3-5 here  better walk the 100 ft and check it...

cheers!

It's been fun at the local. There's waits between sets, but those sets are clean, hollow and amazingly point-like for a beach break. It helps that there's no NW in the water now.

Don is now ready to head South.

As for me... that warm nasal feeling is leading to... leading to... ahhhhhhhhh! All over Corporate America! :D

Pacific Beach San Diego 6:30am-8am

1-2 with 3-5ft sets out of the S. Set peaks were so tightly spaced and wide that they were mostly closed-out walls. We paddled out anyway. 6 fun waves.

Winter really kicked into gear out here the last 3 days. :D 8)
3 swells in 3 days! 5-8' average.
Yesterday the broadcast report was calling it 3-4'.
It was solid 6-8', with bigger sets as the sun went down.
Conditions superb.

Strangely not many people, other than at Sunset and V-Land.
Rocky Pt., Chunn's even Piddlies dealing out excellent waves minus the expected frenzy.
Back Yards had some smokers but you REALLY had to pick'm.

Looking super fun this morning true, 3-4' Hwn.

Been able to get in 2 surfs and shaping 4 boards a day.
Whew!
I think I'll stay out of the water today and just hide in the cool AC of my shaping room, and blast some Jimi Hendrix etc. while I work. 8)

And another clean NW due sunday :D !The weekend was good, not to crowded. They were calling it 6-8...10 on the sets[on the face...this is cali  ]
Sunday doc-s came down,a bit smaller 4-6,bigger sets.Got my quota,which I had set for 20...made it to 23.
Doc's still into the learning curve[one of dale's mats]He got some good ones...also got washed down the reef ,spent a bit of time myself..bouncing along the bottom,no live coral though.and it's long paddle back out.
Also a red tide....so my sinuses are plugged

cheers

Hmmmmm, remember all those clean souths down there, that don't make it up here...... .Anything under 190 up here is generally not very good.Get to 220 or so and it begins to pop, especially with a NW over it.
We Take turns, seems to work out ok..I guess

.Came in from a surf, and ran into a large chunk of blubber[!00 lbs?]floating in the surf zone  Probably from a blue whale that washed into a cove about six months ago

Reporting in for doc-S...the klingons are messing with his isp

AH! You shoulda seen me on the paipo today. First day for it. 4-8
foot faces (Calif. ruler size) very hollow sand bar tubes. Juice.
Lots of close-outs and some perfect barrels. I think its maybe too
big for me. May ride it another time before I take the saw to it.
Thinking about retracing the entire outline in one inch and
bzzzzzzzzzzzzzz... Going fast but no control. Got one small wave,
probably a 3 footer inside, under the lip...lip to the head for most
of the way. Fast fast fast. Worked well at that size but the bigger
ones were cannonball express and I was climbing all over it trying to
aim and find the edges. Pretty fun though. Got a lot of smiles and
comments and questions from da boyz. Everyone knows about paipos but
no one ever has it in them to get down and try one I guess.
