Ummmmmmmmm, somehow i managed to delete the original post, Sorry Surfhorn really don't know how i managed that...
Anyway,
Another great contest with fun had by all!
The conditions started off cleanish and smallish but as a front moved in during the day the waves grew and grew but unfortunately so did the cross onshore wind! Ended up with a few squalls whiting out the sea at one point!
Even so some great surfing went down and the final saw some big moves in the difficult conditions with Rich Smith, Karl Ward, Bro Diplock and Richard Hewitt battling it out for the title as well as the horrendous rip that was running with the wind and saw a few competitors getting swept up the coast!
It was so close between Rich and Karl that there was a recount back through all the scoring waves and it was Rich Smith that came out on top with Karl second, Bro third and Huey fourth.
Congrats Rich! Two years in a row and still well under 30 so lots more to come from him.
In the womens in her first kneeboard contest Rich's girlfriend Natalie (I did get it wrong! Hannah is Duncs wife!! Sorry Natalie!!!) beat previous years champion Jodie Troth to take the title! Congratulations!
Many thanks to Duncan for all his hard work in organising it as well as the BSA and Thule and Headworx for coming onboard as sponsors of the event.

Good write up Bryn, Dorje, any more treason and you'll be for the chop
I thought the standard of surfing from Rich, Karl & Bro was really good. Got to give Anthony (woops got it wrong first time) a mention as well for his AA victory.
Wouldn't mind seeing the final myself as I got so detached from it I couldn't tell what the hell was going on!
(for those who weren't there, the lifeguards were considering retrieving me from up the coast
)
Also a big shout to local talent Ben Skinner aged 22, he missed out on winning the longboard final at the ISA World Surfing Games yesterday by a third of a point.
