Can anybody give me some advise on how to get from San Jose airport to Santa Cruz. I have just been notified by the rental car company that I would need a credit card to pick up the rental car at the airport. My mother-in-law has been paying everything for me over the net with hers as I don't possess one in my name. I have tried shuttle services but all the numbers I seem to be getting are for private and they are over a $100.00s which looks to dear when one can see the prices for others.
I arrive in San Jose at 9:50pm so any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

There's one bus that runs over the hill (as we say) the Highway 17 Express. Catching one that late may be tough, I don't know if they run that late. If they do, you would need to get a cab to the train station in San Jose (about a $20.00 ride I guess?) where you can pick it up. If you can arrive a little closer to 6:00-7:00PM I could give you a ride. A 10:00 lback over the hill is a bit more difficult for me. If you stay over in San Jose it's probably easier in the morning. Also $100.00 for a shuttle seems like a lot, I will look and see wht the last one I took was, and post it if it's better. If you can manage to rent a car ahead of time that would make your trip a bit easier (though not greener I suppose).

Thanks Kage & Beeline
There isn't any problem with taking boards on to a bus is there? I still will try to get a rental car as it is not the money but the lack of a credit card that is the problem. Thanks also for the lift offer kage but it is impossible to change the time of arrival as I only leave Chicago at 6pm. That is where I arrive from Ireland. As to the shaved legs Beeline maoris don't have the hair problem on their bodies and so shaving the legs aint that necessary also the scars from rugby and fin chops don't make a very pretty picture.
Thanks any way lads and I will catch up at the worlds

Thanks heaps all you guys.
I will probably take up your Scott but if it is to much trouble I can stay the night in San Jose and make it on down to Santa Cruz the next day. I will let it flow with the tide.
Anybody no if the pre-contest comp that finishes on the 4th wll have a evening of party to finish it all. If so can anybody please leave an address as would love to get in a few beers to wash away the plane fumes from travelling all day. Otherwise will catch up with ye all somewhere there.
Thanks
