Cheyne Horan Starfin on a Friar Tuck 5'10" Tri...

Great idea, this is a definite goer and clearly the work of an aquanautical genius!

I also had a starfin setup on a 5,9 tommy peterson shaped slab and i thought it worked well, but then again that was 20 kilos ago

In this months Surfers Path
Article on Rasta, he is holding a quad fish with stange looking forward fins they have a normal fin with a fin horizontal off the side a bit more than 90 degrees I presume to give more lift, its a shame there isn't a better shot.

Yeah I saw that. They looked like he'd glassed the tips of other fins onto the inside edge. I used side fins with little wings on on a waveski years ago. The just seemed to interfere with turns though. That's why I thought about the starfin.

I looked at this too:

Trouble it, my middle fin's a box fin so the only way I know to fix it would be to glass it in! I'm not going to obiously!

Was that on its own or as part of a set?

Come on Zeke, two of those on a twin fin setup, black board with flames. Too cool!

I've got one I put in a very round tailed 6'0" Freeline. Rode it as a single fin, and it was way too stiff for me kneeriding, but worked well standing up.
I put it as far forward in the box as I could, and my foot would be right over the top of it, pretty much the center of the arc for the round tail. I've tried it in other boards, and it just doesn't work as well as it did with that round tailed Freeline.
Why do Moroccan tree climbing goats make great pets?
a. They'll mow, and fertilize, your lawn.
b. They can climb trees!
c. Goat's milk, cheese, yogurt, etc is pretty tasty
d. The goats themselves are pretty tasty.
e. All of the above

Yar. I think I'll give the Starfin a miss. Too big I think and the good lady's really excited about turning kneelo!

Are you kidding, I would try that fin, especially if the Great Cheyne Horan used it. In the 70's he rocked :!: I even met him in SA. Seemed like a very nice down to earth guy. Give it just one session on a good day, at least just for the hell of it!

I believe so... Why do you say infamous rather than famous?

GMAN, that boat keel was a huge deal here back then, I mean HUGE :!:

Any idea where I'd find him? Google came up with some papers which are long and didn't really tell me much relating to this (the bits I could understand anyway!)

Cheers Headwax. I'll do that.

Van's come over a bit poorly though so for now, finances are being directed elsewhere

I second that that's a bit harsh. Here's Cheyne's side of the story:
