ranch
Well it was only a matter of time before some idiot decides he's gonna charter groups into the ranch. As someone who has been hiking and boating in since '70...let me offer this advice....don't do it....one or two people in a whaler or a zodiac is tolerated, but the first time some kook with a boat starts filling in the line-up with a crowd there will be trouble from the locals and the regulars....I'm not making threats, only telling you what to expect...this is not the Mentawais this is the last open stretch of the Cali coast, have some respect.....for the area, for the history...if you think localism doesn't exist because of the ranch's remoteness, try showing up at Cojo or Little Drakes with a boat full of people and see how long that vessel remains afloat , not to mention threats and fists and worse......

Gene I dont care what they say, thats good advise.. localasim is not dead it just goes by another name, RESPECT. If a car with 5 or 6 heads pulls up at any break in either one of my hoods, dirty looks are more than likely just the bigining of there problems! Remote Baja or romote or crowded Cali. If you travel with a crowd you will get no respect!

I wasnt tryin to exploit or disrespect just thought I would open a couple of doors. Please dont ban me from the site! Oh by the way I know a little bit about giving respect as a skinny haole kid growing up on oahu surfing all those "locals only" spots such as V Land!

if i offered rides to remote breaks for payment i would most likely be banned at the very least. theres something very un-soulful about exposing something sacred and remote to the masses for cash to say the least!
it takes a bit of money and a lot of time and commitment to put together a seaworthy vessel for surf exploration....something that is very obvious yet not so many are willing to do. thats a good thing!
lets remember CJ is'nt the guy who owns the boat. that guy will no doubt realize there are better ways to make money.
CJ,
i know your intentions were good promoting this guys new business but i would worry about your reputation sinking along with his.
but anyone who has surfed V-land knows about localism so your call bro.
if you ever make it over to Gilligans Island i'll take you out no charge!

Gilligan, thanks for stickin up for me. I just ask every one else not to shoot the messenger. I was just layin it out there for every one to have the opertunity to take advantage of it who wanted it. If we dont want to pollute the lineup with said KOOKS dont call him!
