Eric,

We have had a real Florida summer here in Cali as well. Just one decent HH south swell since spring.

Remember those nice Mexican hurricane swells we used to get
regularly years back????

Havn't seen one of those in a long. long time.

Even you East Coast guys have had a drought of hurricane swell
this year. Starting to look like this new global weather pattern
is not a good thing for surf.....

ScottMac,
Not really true, we are just gearing up for our season on the right coast, and the TWave train off the west coast of Africa has begun. Sept- Oct. will tell.
Summer has been sucky here, tho

caught some nice ones today at 9th street. 1 outsider came in and held me down for a while! I was vertically upside down holding on to my board! knowing it would make it to the surface eventually heh heh! I came up gasping Image The kid that was paddling next to me was like  "that thing held me down forever!!"

A shark sighting is always a good way to get the juices flowing. lol

Surfed my local beach yesterday evening. It was only knee high but the water was nice a warm (for Satna Cruz County). I took a 9'0" rp with an 8" cut-away fin so I could bust it loose. But instead of standing I ended up KBing these little left peelers! I paddled in, popped to my knees and just trimmed along under this tiny lip! Such fun!

When it finally closed down I was just laying in the water cracking up. I had so much fun- on such a long board- in such tiny waves.

You needed me in the water at RJs for safety . . . professional courtesy, and all.
