I am looking at a new board and am torn between tri fin and qaud fins. I have never ridden quads so... What differences can I excpect from these fin arrangements?
Thanks.

Dorje thanks for your advice. I did the search like you suggested, a bottle of red and numerous coffees later!':?'
I came to the conclusion that my knowledge of surfboards was that the pointy bit goes in front and the fins go down. So I did the logical thing drove to Byron, talked to David Parkes for a while and ordered a new quad fin.
What the hell the only way to learn is to try.':P'
Thanks to all the contributers for their inspirations.'

Switched from Tri to Quads about 3 years ago. Romo shaped me a New Quad last spring and I got it in time to catch the only big south we had this year. Took a while to get it wired but towards the end of the first session Late Screaming Drops and shooting big sections was the norm. It's a matter of personal taste of course but after 15 years of Tri-fin boards I like the feel a set of Quad Fins gives me and with the adjustible fin box setup Romo talked me into the endless possiblities too.

that's what I did last Wednesday
during that stormy weather
but
I'm getting Dave to add a centre fin position and he is supplying a
Quad set of Fins
and a
Tri set of fins
The Tri set is based on the MR twin with a small centre
and I can use one of the Quad trailers as a larger centre
... hope that all made sense
now I am broke

David was really helpful and a gentlemen to boot. I too have put a serious dent in my finances, you can't take it with you.
