Wave wizard kneeboard info

Post by gray »

would really appreciate if someone has any information on the board I've just bought.

http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll ... :IT&ih=006

Hope the link works. Its a spoon, made by wave wizard somewhere in australia ,with a fin box thruster set up, so I'm thinking its early eighties. Does anyone know the history to these boards?

It looks to be made from resin has some serious flex.

I dont have the original fins and was wondering if anyone had some ideas what would be the best fin set up to get the most out of it.

Any tips on getting this thing going?

cheers

Gray, the page is no longer available @ ebay, maybe you can get some pics posted here. A spoon thruster would be unique and I'm curious how they mounted the fin boxes too.

Wizard "kneeboard"

Post by wolruss »

I've managed to get the pictures up on ebay, doesn't look like any kneeboard I've seen or a spoon for that matter - it actually looks a bit like a boogie board in resin. The fin set up looks very straight also - hey I'm no expert maybe someone else can get the picture up and check it out.

?????????
Cheers Wolruss

to me all the signs point towards a belly board , shape, length leash plug on the nose irespective of whats be on the sticker , and unless your a genuine collector I reckon the price is a bit on the royal side to.

Hey Griz,

I reckon your right, I think its more a Paipo / bellyboard, rather than a dedicated kneeboard, but I reckon with the leggie plug at the back it might do both jobs. I've done a bit of digging and there a few paipo boards which can be ridden prone or on the knees, so I'll be giving it a go down south this weekend if the northerlies back off.

I spent $115 AU and I reckon I've had my monies worth just staring at in the kitchen wondering what it is!

cheers
