Kneelo friendly breaks in OC?

Post by markl714 »

After visting this site almost daily I took the plunge and purchased a used Flashpoint kneeboard. I was hoping to get some direction from the fourm about kneeboard friendly breaks in SoCal/OC?
I have seen reference to "Kneelo Cove" anyone care to share any information?
I also would like to try and find some replacement pads. Any shops in SoCal that stock the Parkes pads? Thanks.

"Dave Parkes" <d-par@bigpond.com> can get you the pads. Any break in OC is Kneelo friendly if you can surf. Practice at a place like Bolsa and then go wherever you want.

Thanks for the response and the link. I appreciate you taking the time.
I'm just looking for a spot with a friendly vibe...I just do this for fun & relaxation. I can surf, I'm just trying to switch things up a bit.

anywhere south of the HB pier to River jettis you can usually find a few kneelos out...

but the waves are punchy and footies get aggro if your not making the waves you hustle em for... :)

Try life guard tower 22 at Bolsa. a couple of us have recently met there on weekends. The comraderie will help you improve. It spretty mellow there. Look for the yellow kneeboard getting sucked over the falls! That's me.

fin shui

i volunteer the point at 18th street in newport. good messy barrels and some kneeriders that enjoy sandblasting. on another subject, has anyone ever had a problem with the fin leashes getting fouled with each other after a wave blows off both your duckfeet? this happened to me and the leashes wrapped up so tight around each other that my ankles were locked tight.the swimfins were like two little buckets and i was deep underwater unable to release the velcro on the leashes. i ended up breaking the strap on one fin and it lessened the tug enough for me to get to the surface. all this relatively close to shore and with lots of people around. i actually crawled on to the beach. anyway, the lessen learned is to have big giant tear off tabs on the fin leashes or dont buy em. nuff said....
