along the surfcoast due to winds protected breaks further towards Lorne and beyond will be on the cards tomorrow for those with leisure.
winds not kind for most locales after dawn
should be good viewing at 13th just to whatch the thumpers roll in.
smaller here on the weekend and will most likely need to head 30 minutes west of 13th beach (at least) to get the first decent surf in weeks due to wnw winds
i like surfing

Got some waves at Point Leo last night. Swell buoy was saying 6-7 metres but it wasn't really getting into the protected reef breaks in Westerport Bay at anywhere near that. Still had fun and it was worth the effort, didn't even get into strife from 'She who must be obeyed.' I'll put some photos up from my phone camera but they don't really do it justice. It was bigger, wilder and woollier than it looks.

I used to before I had a car, my parents have a place on the cliff above the slab or China's, it's all I surfed from the age of 11 to 18. I normally only go out there with the kids now. However given the crowd at Leo last night I now wish I had checked it out. I considered it but thought the wind might have been getting into it a bit too much. Crowd of 4 vs a crowd of 40? I think you made a good call.

Man O Man!!!!
Last night at Crunchies was some of the biggest takeoffs of my life. We hung out the left hand side at the second set of suck rocks and caught the bigger sets that were closing out the inside. I caught one wave that took me past the blue boat and almost linked up with Trelors!!!
We estimated that some waves were 6-8 feet with some of the bigger sets at about 10 feet. INSANE!!!
I am still on a high this morning!!!!
A one point I sat there and watched a storm front move across the bay and a crack in the clouds let some sun down and then it bucketed down again and I could not believe how good it was!!!!!!!!!

10 Foot faces definitely a solid 5-6 foot in my book unless it picked up after 7:45pm. Not the biggest I have seen Crunchies, I actually thought it was going to be bigger considering what the swell buoy was doing.
I was out on the left it was a sucking up a fair bit more than the right and was closing down from time to time but no where near as long. Lead to a very good workout! I must admit I was still buzzing a bit this morning after slotting into a couple of barrels.
Poorboy0007 Did you check out the couple of guys taking off on the bombs out at Suicide?

Hey MJ,
Maybe I got a bit excited! BUT Sure felt like 10 foot!!! LOL
I saw the bodyboarder that was out the back at Crunchies get out and head over to Suicide! He then proceeded to get smashed at every opportunity! We sat up at the lookout in the rain and cheered him on!
Good luck to him! I think we all felt like we got some good waves!
