Blacks was 3-4' overhead on the infrequent sets on the Dawn Patrol today. With the lower tide it started to focus more and the infrequent sets were starting to look real good 8)

My favorite reefs around The Point have really filled in with sand. Its been treacherous entering/exiting since last year, even in the summer; now its a big sand box. I walked it at minus tide to check out my favorite underwater rocks.

Some weak windswell today, couple 1-2' waves at Rincon but long waits and quite a crowd.

Anyone else tired of the "starbucks" crowd?? I'm sure the HB guys know what im referring too(most stay cliffs though), that crowd that only comes out when its small and 'easy to surf'. Mostly chat in the lineup and kook out while getting in everyones way, to only catch errr blow 1 or 2 waves then go talk about how epic the surf was at Starbucks after... We have quite the herd of them at Rincon but luckily they stay in the cove mostly but a few wandered into the rivermouth today and were dealt with quickly by locals.

And after that little rant, i don't even want to get started with those damn SUPS(standup paddleboards). most of them can't surf worth a damn and those things are fricken dangerous in the lineup!!

The real Rincon crowd only shows up when it's well overhead til then, it might as well be Bedwetters...

But if you do go to Bedwetters don't venture around the corner.....a little more intense up that way!

First surf for me in a couple of weeks, so it was fun to get 4 Mile today at about 5-7', with 14 second and 19 second period swell in the water. About 15 guys sat in the main bowl, and a friend and I sat alone on the outside, trying to connect the larger set waves all the way through, which we often did (that drives the rest of the crew crazy!). Lots of ledges, fun sections and some tubes. I was rusty, cramped up big time, but had a great time.

I was watching the Surfline Steamer Lane cam mid-morning today (looked only about 3 guys out) and enjoyed some kneelo just tearing it up. Lots of great lip bashes and reentries--wonder who it was.
I'm not influenced by the past; I change it!

has anyone been surfing the dredge?

its soooo sick cause you can swim out and stand on the dredge pipe in ankle to knee deep water and around you its like at least 8' deep!

wave comes and you jump off the pipe into it...

feels like gettin towed in... starts as a mushy right be reforms into a racetrack left with occasional barrel....

shhhh....dont tell the spongers :D

Se Masons, Mags.... Isnt it great walking down that street from squirrel park to avoid the $10 parking ,

..the smell of death as you walk by the wetland where the dredging crew throws century old coke bottles onto the sidewalk for you to step on....

does anyone know what theyre building on the "Ecological Preserve" ?

Nice pics Skan. Its funny how many people picnic and bring their kids to that strip of grass with all the squirrels... while its a dump/landfill just on the other side of the fence lol

And ya, screw $10, all about riding the bike
