both of those links look very interesting

the double layered Squid looks similar to what I have been doing
with the 4mm soft and 6.25 mm grip on top

the Parkes with soft under will end up thicker and this is not to everyone's liking

it seems that when things get over 10 or 12mm
some people can feel disconnected with the board

I like the choices in the NSI product
both colours and textures
...
can anyone give more details of NSI's dual density

I've been using NSI dual density pads on my kneeboards and windsurfboards for years. I like the waffle or diamond pattern as it offers traction in all directions. You will not slip off your board. I've never had issue with durability and have used both the peel and stick self adhering and glue yourself options. I prefer the peel and stick but have opted for the glue your own to save money. I really don't see any negatives concerning its application and use on a kneeboard. And for the price of the pre-cut pads from others you can cover the entire deck.

and if so
approx thicknesses of each layer and overall ?

can you compare the softness/stiffness to something we might know ... like Parkes grey or bubble ... squid grip ... etc

Just bought my second set of pads from nsi.First sets been on for over a yr.+No. problems.
Dual density...Took a pic,too hard to see.Anyways,the bottom layer is approx 1/8''....3mil..or about,and is definately less dense than the top.Upper layer is about 2/8in..about 6mil.So 3/8 or about 9mil is the thickness.I've used both parkes bubble..spongy,and the gray- stiffer.Both worked fine.
I like these simply because I can sent them a pattern and they'll make what I want..... :) Like my fronts longer and a bit wider,rears shorter and not as wide.All are nicely beveled.Not stiff like the grays,and not spongy like the bubble...In between?Price is competative,and I get custom..
Your're in OZ?That could get expensive.Grass is always greener on the other side...ya reckon..... :lol:

I have to feel the board so have always used thinner pads. Currently using Creature Longboard Pads. It may help that I never lost my knee-knots from longboard days.
