Quick, out with the carbon fibre, foam, glass and other materials.
Ditch the shapers
Dont bother with fins (not flippers)
Grab a plank from the shed
Draw an outline with a fish tail
Cut it out with a bandsaw
Round the edges with some sand paper
Wax it
Run to the beach
Paddle out
Surf it.

Yah I've seen a few guys riding that style of board, also one with a square tail. Fun in smaller surf but when Rincon wakes up they struggle off the bottom.

Saw the MAlloy's out at offshore, overhead , sand spit flying through barrels sideways on those things.Takes serious skill to ride them at that level let alone just to be able to catch waves

Back in the late 70's when the surf was small every now & then you would get someone in the lineup with an ironing board or a fridge door, ripped off their nut on something like mullumbimby madness, mushies or lsd. So cool.
